Fabricating an idea into reality with new technology
I teach a variety of classes that focus around the use of natural materials such as mineral paints. These classes can simply focus on how to collect and process materials to make paint with for use in creative explorations. The classes also can connect the sciences such as geography, geology, hydrology, and ecology that help to explain the nature of the materials that were used in traditional forms of art throughout the world. These classes not only focus on the use of natural materials, but also use modern technology to create maps and 3d models with various computer programs. Creating a painting, designing a playground, or planning the placement of plants in the garden all require thinking about space, form, color, and texture.
